Can AI find your business?

More people now ask ChatGPT and Google’s AI who to call. Check whether those tools can read your site and recommend you. Free, about 15 seconds.

We only read public pages, the same way the AI tools do.

What we check.

  • Can AI get in?

Whether your site lets ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI, Claude and Copilot read it at all.

  • Can AI read it?

Whether the words are there without JavaScript, with a clear title, description and headings.

  • Can AI understand you?

Whether your business details, questions and answers are set out the way AI tools look for.

A plain-English guide to being found by AI.

Why AI search matters now

More people now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google’s AI Overviews and Copilot questions like “who’s a good plumber near me?” instead of scrolling a list of links. These tools answer with a few recommendations and the sources they used. If they can’t read your site, you’re not one of the names they give.

How AI tools decide who to recommend

They read public web pages, reviews and business listings, then summarise what they find. Sites that are easy to read, clear about what the business does and where, and that describe the business in a structured way are much easier for them to understand and cite.

What the AI check looks at

Whether your site lets the main AI crawlers in (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended and Bingbot), whether your words are readable without running JavaScript, whether the page has a clear title, description and headings, whether your business details are marked up as structured data, whether you answer common questions, and whether you have a sitemap and an llms.txt file.

What is llms.txt?

A newer, simple text file at the root of a website that tells AI tools what the site is about and which pages matter most. It isn’t required yet, but it’s quick to add and helps AI tools find the right pages.

How to improve your AI visibility

Let the AI crawlers in, make sure your key pages show real text without JavaScript, add business structured data (name, address, services, hours), answer the questions customers actually ask, keep your Google Business Profile complete, and earn genuine reviews. This is often called GEO, generative engine optimisation.

Questions about the AI check.

What is GEO?
Generative engine optimisation: making your site easy for AI tools like ChatGPT and Google’s AI answers to read, understand and recommend. It overlaps a lot with good SEO.
Should I let AI crawlers read my website?
For most local businesses, yes. If they can’t read your site, they can’t recommend you. You can still block specific tools if you prefer.
Is this the same as SEO?
They share the basics: clear pages, structured data and good content. AI search adds a few extras, like allowing AI crawlers and answering questions directly.
Does the check change anything on my site?
No. It only reads public pages, the same way the AI tools do. Nothing is changed and nothing is stored beyond the result you see.
Can you fix the issues for me?
Yes. Most fixes are quick for a developer. For a deeper look, our full SEO and AI search report covers your whole site and your competitors.
