A hire catalogue that behaves like a magazine.

A designer dress-hire storefront built to prove that editorial motion and a working catalogue are the same job, not two.
Dress hire sits on stock Shopify themes, which sell the platform rather than the dress. The brief was to find out how far a storefront can be pushed on plain HTML: a wordmark that inverts against the footage behind it, a media panel that grows from an inset strip to full bleed, a scroll-scrubbed wipe, and a catalogue underneath all of it that still has to answer whether a size 10 is free on the night.
One data file holds the catalogue, so the grid, the collection filters, the product page and the bag can never disagree. Availability is stored as day offsets rather than fixed dates, so a static file cannot go stale. The wordmark is drawn as vector outlines and painted as a CSS mask, which is what lets it invert per pixel against video instead of switching class at a threshold. Every clip is re-encoded portrait at CRF 26, poster first, and nothing autoplays until it is on screen.
The whole build, video included, is under 20MB. Both typefaces are open licence, so it can ship as it stands. It is gated behind edge middleware that fails shut rather than open when no password is configured.
